India's young batter Abhishek Sharma, who won the Player of the Tournament (POTM) award in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025, as the Suryakumar Yadav-led side won the tournament, defeating Pakistan in the final at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. After the Asia Cup 2025, Abhishek was back to action on Friday (October 3) as India A played the second unofficial ODI against Australia A at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
The unofficial ODI clash between India A and Australia A took place on the same day as his sister was tying the knot with businessman Lovish Oberoi in Amritsar, which is their hometown. Post the wedding was completed, Komal spoke to the media and admitted she missed his brother Abhishek.
"It feels amazing. This is such a great day for me, I am tying the knot today. I am very happy and excited. I am missing my brother," said Komal.
Abhishek also took his Instagram to share a screenshot of himself video-calling her sister wearing India jersey as he represented the Men in Blue on the same day, here's the picture.

Why Abhishek Sharma missed her sister's wedding?
The left-handed batter played a crucial role in India's Asia Cup 2025 win, scoring 314 runs in seven outings of the tournament including three half-centuries with a highest score of 75. . He was one of the four players from the Asia Cup 2025 stars who were named in the Shreyas Iyer-led Indian team for the second and third one-dayers against Australia, alongside Tilak Varma, Harshit Rana, and Arshdeep Singh.
Abhishek posted pictures of attending her sister's haldi function, but was in Kanpur on the day of the wedding.
However, Abhishek had a forgettable outing as he was dismissed for a golden duck by Will Sutherland as India suffered a collapse and found themselves at 16-3. However, brilliant batting from Tilak Varma (94) and Riyan Parag helped the post 246 on the board.
