After taking the crease due to the fall of Michael Pepper on the 73rd delivery of the innings, Harry Brook wasted no time and opened his run-account with a stunning maximum. The batter played an outrageous scoop shot against Birmingham Phoenix seamer Tim Southee to get his inning off to a flying start.
Brook, who is captaining the Northern Superchargers in the tournament, came out to bat with the side on 138/2. The 26-year-old didn't take any time to settle and started smashing boundaries from the get-go. He would finish the innings unbeaten on 31 runs from just 14 deliveries, hitting two boundaries and sixes each.

Notably, the Superchargers had gotten off to a great start thanks to openers Zak Crawley and Dawid Malan. The duo played valiant knocks of 45 and 58 respectively before getting dismissed. Thanks to Brook and Dan Lawrence's cameo of 31 and 15 respectively, the side went on to post a massive total of 193/5 after facing 100 deliveries.
Superchargers were totally dominant during the match
In reply, the Phoenix's inning never really got going as the Superchargers dominated with the ball. Despite fiery knocks from skipper Liam Livingstone (46) and Jacob Bethell (44), the side could only manage to put up a total of 157/9 on the board after 100 deliveries. Matthew Potts picked up three scalps while the trio of Jacob Duffy, Adil Rashid and Tom Lawes finished with two wickets each under their respective names as the Superchargers recorded a comfortable 36-run victory.
The victory saw the Brook-led side reach the top of the table with 12 points from their first four matches. On the other hand, the Phoenix languish at the bottom of the standings with just four points from as many games. With 18 matches still remaining in the league stage of The Hundred, it remains to be seen if the Livingstone-led side will be able to force a turn-around in the tournament.
