Rana scored a stunning hundred to carry West Delhi Lions to victory

Tempers flared during the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 eliminator between West Delhi Lions and South Delhi Superstarz and saw Nitish Rana and Digvesh Rathi get into a heated argument. It all began after Nitish smashed Digvesh for a stunning maximum through a reverse-sweep. After this both the players exchanged a few words with each other, but Rana wasn't amused to say the least and charged towards the spinner.

Players from both teams alongwith the umpires had to intervene between the two in order to stop things from getting even messier. The video of the heated argument between the two players would end up going viral on social media.

However, Rana would eventually have the last laugh as not would he go on to score a fine century, but would also carry his side to an emphatic 7-wicket victory. The defeat ended up eliminating the South Delhi Superstarz from the tournament as it was the West Delhi Lions, who qualified for the second playoff.

Rana played a fantastic inning of 134 runs from just 55 deliveries to single-handedly take his isde to the target of 202. The 31-year-old's explosive knock included 8 boundaries and 15 towering sixes. On the other hand, Rathi ended up having a dismal day at the office as he conceded 39 runs in just two overs, maintaining an incredibly expensive economy rate of 19.50.

West Delhi Lions reach one step closer to the final

Rana was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his magnificent performance with the bat. The left-hander hadn't had a great season before this knock and had only scored a total of 135 runs in eight league stage matches. However, he put his batting woes behind him and stepped up when the team needed it the most. The 31-year-old will be in action on August 30 as the West Delhi Lions face-off against the East Delhi Riders in the second qualifier at Arun Jaitley stadium. The winner of this encounter will take on Central Delhi Kings in the final on August 31.
