Story Highlights:

Joshua Little won the 'catch of the match' award.

Little took Lahore Qalandars opener Fakhar Zaman's catch on the boundary.

Little played for Gujarat Titans for a few seasons.

There are often comparisons between Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Recently, Lahore Qalandars' Sam Billings in a post-match press conference was asked to compare but he said that IPL is ahead of every T20 league in the world. On April 22, former Pakistan cricketer-turned-commentator Ramiz Raja said 'IPL' instead of PSL in a major goof-up during the post-match presentation ceremony.

The incident took place when Ireland's left-arm pacer Joshua Little got the award for 'Catch of the match'. Multan Sultans' Little had earlier represented IPL 2022-winning side Gujarat Titans (GT) for two seasons. The video has gone viral on social media. Notably, Raja is one of the few former Pakistan cricketers who have commentated in the IPL as well.

The Irishman took the catch of Lahore Qalandars opener Fakhar Zaman off Ubaid Shah's bowling. Zaman scored 32 runs from just 14 balls in the unsuccessful run chase at Multan Cricket Stadium. Little bowled four overs, conceded 37 runs and claimed the wicket of Haris Rauf in the final over the match.

Rizwan happy with team's fielding and bowlers' execution

Multan Sultans beat Lahore Qalandars by 33 runs at home. This is the Mohammad Rizwan-led side's first win of the season. Rizwan lauded the improved fielding standards of Multan Sultans as they registered their first win after three defeats.

"The smile is back. We had not fielded well in the last three games. Our bowlers executed well today. We carried the momentum well today. Usman Khan was instrumental in creating that momentum for us. Our bowlers have been inexperienced since the last season, I’d like to talk to them and that’s why I’ve been fielding instead of keeping," Rizwan said in the post-match presentation.

Afridi blames pitches for bowlers' struggle

On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars skipper Shaheen Afridi blamed the pitch for his team conceding 228 runs including Yasir Khan's 87-run knock.

"The conditions were tough. The bowlers tried different things but the ball was coming on nicely. Our plan was to try Mitchell as he will have to bowl in the coming games and give as much opportunity to everyone as possible. Rishad is bowling well, he's picking up wickets, unfortunately the pitch was not helpful today and as the tournament goes on, he will be effective. The tournament has just started and there is a long way to go," Afridi said after his team's second defeat of the season.
