In the recent development on the Saha-journo row, Wriddhiman Saha finally revealed the journalist's name to BCCI who threatened him in a Whatsapp text. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a three-member committee to investigate the alleged threat by a journalist to India wicket-keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha for not agreeing to give an interview.
In an exclusive interaction with Sports Tak, Saha said that he has given all the details to BCCI and the board will accordingly take action.
"I have given all the details to BCCI and I didn't hide anything. The final decision will be taken by the board and the committee," Saha said.
Regarding Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly, Saha said,"I cannot say anything on this matter. The board has clearly told me not to say anything as the BCCI itself will give a clarification on the matter."
However, Saha first said is not willing to reveal the name of the journalist as he doesn't want to destroy somebody's career. Saha said the intention behind his tweet was to expose the journalist for disrespecting a player's wish but he doesn't want to pull someone down.
Saha, who was dropped from the India's Test squad from the ongoing Sri Lanka , had taken to Twitter on February 23 to allege that one "respected" journalist took an aggressive tone after his refusal to grant him an interview. "After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so-called 'Respected' journalist! This is where the journalism has gone," Saha had tweeted.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the BCCI got in touch with Saha and decided to constitute a three-member committee to investigate the matter. The WhatsApp messages sent by the journalist had a threatening tone, "You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don't take insults kindly. And I will remember this."
Earlier, the 37-year old wicketkeeper-batsman also revealed that team India head coach Rahul Dravid had asked him to contemplate retirement from International cricket. On the other hand, he also said that BCCI president Ganguly provided him with a conflicting view in November 2021 to "not worry about anything". Further which it was deemed that BCCI might seek an explanation from Saha about his recent outburst targetting BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and head coach Rahul Dravid after being dropped from the Indian team as it feels he violated the protocols for centrally-contracted cricketers.
