Ravi Bishnoi opened up on making his long return to T20Is

Bishnoi recorded figures of 2/18 against New Zealand in 3rd T20I

India spinner Ravi Bishnoi reflected on his long road back to international cricket after the victory over New Zealand in third T20I. He returned to the national team after almost a year of absence and put in an impressive performance. The 25-year-old recorded figures of 2/18 in his quota of four overs and played a key role in restricting the Kiwis down to 153/9 in 20 overs.

Bishnoi's superb bowling effort vs NZ

He took the important wickets of Glenn Phillips (48) and Mark Chapman (32) and bowled a remarkable spell. Following the match, Bishnoi admitted that he felt that he deserved a place in the team, but wasn't able to make the cut for quite some time.

“For a long time, you feel you should be there, but you are not. The Indian team is very strong, there are very few places and limited opportunities. But it was good for me because I had time to work on myself," Bishnoi said after the match.

Bishnoi further said that that he has been trying to bowl at good length consistently, adding that it becomes difficult for the opposing batters to take the upper hand when his length isn't off.

“If my length is slightly off, it becomes very easy to hit. So I worked on bowling a good length consistently. Around five to six metres, targeting the stumps. From there it becomes difficult to attack. “There is excitement, but also nervousness. When you get a chance, you have to perform," Bishnoi stated.

Bishnoi's numbers in T20Is

The spinner does have quite a bit of experience when it comes to T20Is as he has made 43 appearances in the format so far. He has racked up a total of 63 wickets, icncluding the best bowling figures of 4/13 and a decent economy-rate of 7.28. He will be hoping to play the remaining two games of the ongoing series against New Zealand after his commendable spell in the third T20I.

Meanwhile, India defeated New Zealand comfortably by 8 wickets to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series. The Men in Blue have easily been the far more dominant side in both the batting and bowling departments. They will be looking to maintain this form in their final two matches before the T20 World Cup that will commence from February 7.
