'I have 10 more years of cricket in me': Hardik Pandya aims to win 10 more trophies in next decade

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya lifted the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy for second consecutive edition. The ever-so-confident has set bigger goals for himself. The 32-year-old Pandya sees himself play cricket for 10 more years. He intends to win 10 more trophies including the ICC tournaments and the Indian Premier League (IPL). 

“It sounds very good that I am a senior player now. But I have 10 more years of cricket in me. I have played only half of my career so far; half is left. I would like to win 10 more trophies in total, including ICC and IPL. But ICC trophies are the most important for me,” Hardik said after India’s 96-run win over New Zealand in the final.

 

 

"I would want to win anything that I play. In the next 10 years, I would definitely win five or six more. Losing was never in my mind. I would like to thank God," he added.

Pandya’s contribution in final and entire T20 World Cup 2026

In the final, Pandya walked out to bat at number four, ahead of skipper Suryakumar Yadav. He contributed with a 13-ball 18 cameo. With the ball, he delivered with wicket of Mark Chapman. In four overs, he conceded 36 runs.

In the tournament, he scored 217 runs from nine innings at an average of 27.12 and strike rate of 160.74. He scored two half-centuries. With the ball, he bagged nine wickets at an average of 32.33.

Pandya on his winning run

Pandya credited his girlfriend for his success in the last few years.

“This is the victory I have always lived for. This is why I have played cricket. I want to win trophies. I want to win as many trophies as I can. In 2024, I had said that whatever trophies I play for, I will win. And I believe that. This trophy is a validation of that,” said Hardik.

 

 

“There is a lot of hard work. There is not only talk, but there is a lot of hard work. Work hard, stay silent, be a good person. Since Maheika has come into my life, I have only been winning,” he added.

 

 

He will be next seen in action in the IPL 2026, leading Mumbai Indians (MI). The schedule for the tournament is yet to be announced.
