India’s young opener Abhishek Sharma continues to sit at the top of the ICC T20I batter rankings, even though his recent performances have raised a few eyebrows.
It hasn’t been the smoothest T20 World Cup for Abhishek so far. The southpaw started his campaign with a golden duck in India's T20 World Cup opener clash against United States. After that, he was admitted to a hospital in New Delhi due to a stomach infection and missed the clash against Namibia. When he returned to face Pakistan, luck didn’t favour him again as he was dismissed for another duck. Despite this rough patch, Abhishek has managed to hold on to the No.1 spot in the batting rankings.
Ishan Kishan on comes on Top 10
Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan has made a big statement. The wicketkeeper-batter has broken into the Top 10 after jumping 17 places to reach eighth. His rise comes after scoring back-to-back half-centuries in the T20 World Cup, including a blistering 77 off just 40 balls that earned him the Player of the Match award.

Several other players have enjoyed significant gains in the latest update. South Africa’s Ryan Rickelton surged 22 places to 11th, while Aiden Markram moved up six spots to joint 15th. USA’s Saiteja Mukkamalla rose 16 places to 21st, and England youngster Jacob Bethell jumped 22 positions to reach 32nd, thanks to some impactful knocks during the tournament.

Saim Ayub retains the number 1 spot
The race for the No.1 T20I all-rounder spot remains intense. Pakistan’s Saim Ayub has returned to the top, edging past Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza. Ayub’s three-wicket haul against India in Colombo played a key role in his rise. Raza has now slipped to second. Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee (up two places) and Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai (up four spots) are tied in fourth after consistent performances.
Varun Chakravarthy shines
There’s also a close fight in the bowling rankings. Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan has moved up one spot to second and is now breathing down the neck of India’s Varun Chakravarthy, who remains at No.1.
Zimbabwe fast bowler Brad Evans jumped 10 places to fifth after picking up consecutive three-wicket hauls. India’s Axar Patel climbed four spots to 14th, Jasprit Bumrah rose six places to 15th, and Ireland spinner Matthew Humphreys made one of the biggest jumps, moving up 23 spots to 23rd.
