Kishan surpasses Sahibzada, Samson makes 18-place jump after T20 World Cup 2026 final heroics; Chakravarthy loses top spot

India's in-form top-order batter Ishan Kishan has climbed to places to take the second spot in ICC T20I rankings for batters. Kishan is just behind opener Abhishek Sharma. There is only four-point difference between him and Abhishek (875).

Kishan went past Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan who was the top-scorer in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. The 27-year-old scored 54 runs from 25 balls in the final against New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. England’s Phil Salt slipped one place to fourth.

Huge jump for Bethell and Samson

New Zealand's Tim Seifert scored a half-century and climbed four places to take sixth position. He surpassed Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav and Jos Buttler. England's Jacob Bethell has made a huge jump of 17 places, owing to his maiden T20I century against India in the semifinal. T20 World Cup 2026's 'Player of the tournament'. Sanju Samson made another huge jump, moving up 18 places. He sits at 22nd place now. Another India player who moved up in rankings is all-rounder Shivam Dube. He moved up four places to 27th.

Chakravarthy loses top spot

Varun Chakravarthy's reign as no.1 T20I bowler ended despite being the joint-highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup 2026. The mystery spinner went for 39 runs in three overs and bagged the wicket of Seifert. He slipped to the second place. Afghanistan's leg-spinner Rashid Khan has regained the top spot. 

There were a few other changes in top 10. South Africa's Corbin Bosch slipped to fifth as Adil Rashid went up one place to claim the third spot. Bumrah climbed one spot as well, taking Adam Zampa's sixth place.

Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh moved down three places. He is placed at 16th position now. Axar Patel was rewarded for his consistent performances. The left-arm spinner went up six places to 17th.

Santner, Jacks move up

There was just one change in ICC T20I all-rounders top 10 rankings. New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner gained three places. He occupied the ninth spot. While Dube slipped two places to 11th, England's Will Jacks gained five places to take 13th place. Jacks was one of the contenders for the ‘Player of the tournament’. He won four ‘Player of the match’ awards for his all-round show.
