Defending champions India will be taking on South Africa in a warm-up match before the 2026 T20 World Cup on February 4 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. This will be the Men in Blue's second warm-up game after their A team had defeated USA by 38 runs in the first match. But, this time they will be fielding their senior team as they take on last edition's finalists in South Africa.
India had defeated South Africa comprehensively by 3-1 in the five-match T20I series that got contested in December, 2025. The Proteas bounced back from this deffeat in their next T20I assignment and defeated West Indies by 2-1 in a three-match series. On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav & Co. continued their phenomenal form in the shortest format and won the series by 4-1.
