Rinku will rejoin Team India ahead of Zimbabwe clash.

India’s designated finisher Rinku Singh is set to board the flight from Delhi to Chennai to rejoin the squad for the must-win ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Zimbabwe on February 26. Rinku had to leave Team India camp to meet his ailing father Khanchand Singh, who is suffering from Stage 4 liver cancer. Khanchand is in critical condition at a hospital in Greater Noida.

Rinku is likely to be available for selection as India need a big win against Sikandar Raza-led Zimbabwe to boost their chances of reaching the semifinal after a massive 76-run loss to South Africa.

Rinku’s numbers in T20 World Cup 2026

Rinku has played all games in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 so far. He has been batting down the order which many have criticised, including legendary off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. He was dismissed for single-digit scores against USA and Namibia. In the clash against Pakistan, he contributed with an unbeaten four-ball 11 cameo. He managed to score six runs from three balls against Netherlands.

In the Super 8 game against South Africa, he departed for a two-ball duck as he arrived at the crease when the run chase had already slipped out of India’s grasp.

Rinku's numbers against Zimbabwe

Rinku has played five T20Is against Zimbabwe. From four innings, he has remained unbeaten in three and scored 60 runs. His strike rate against them is 176.47. He registered an unbeaten 48 against them in Harare in 2024.
