Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq is currently facing a lot of criticism from fans, getting asscused him of “chucking” during his last T20 World Cup 2026 outing againstthe USA in Colombo. He faced criticism despite the ICC having cleared his bowling action on two separate occasions in the past.
The young spinner played a crucial role in the Salman Ali Agha-led side's 32-run win at the SSC Stadium, picking up three wickets. With that win, Pakistan are now at the top of Group A with back-to-back victories. However, during the game, social media was flooded with posts questioning the legality of his action; similar concerns had previously been reported during the Pakistan Super League before he was officially cleared.

Responding to the criticism, Tariq said he remains focused on his game but suggested that the scrutiny could pile pressure on Indian batters ahead of the marquee clash between the two sides.
“I guess there will be extra pressure on them. The way they are discussing these things, it shows maybe there will be pressure on them,” Tariq said. “But I don’t really know what’s going around in the media. I’m just focusing on my cricket and my practice.”
PCB took u-turn after deciding to boycott India clash
Pakistan will now face India in their third clash of the T20 World Cup 2025, which is scheduled to take place on February 15 in Colombo. Notably, the Pakistan government had earlier decided to boycott the India clash to show solidarity with Bangladesh, who are replaced in by the scotland in the mega event. After talks with the ICC and BCB, the Pakistan government allowed their team to share the field against India.
