India's batting unit has been questioned by the former cricketers and fans, saying that the intent has been missing, and the defeat has made India’s road to the semi-finals far more difficult.

Team management shows support to Abhishek Sharma

Although the team management has continued to support Abhishek, he has struggled to make an impact. Against South Africa, he started confidently during the chase and hit an early boundary that briefly raised hopes. But he could not carry on and was dismissed for 15. India later collapsed and suffered a 76-run defeat.
