Devdutt Padikkal and Nitish Kumar Reddy to be included in India's Test squad vs West Indies.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Devdutt Padikkal and star all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy are likely to be part of the Shubman Gill-led Test squad for the two-match series against West Indies. The two-Test match series between India and West Indies will start from October 02, and the second clash will take place from 10 October at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, respectively. 

Padikkal who smashed 150 for India A against Australia A in the first four-day game in Lucknow, has played two Tests so far. He was part of the Perth Test against Australia last year, when he made scores of 0 and 25 from No. 3. Nitish Kumar Reddy is also a part of the same series, and the fast bowling all-rounder also featured for India in the five-Test match series of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 in England earlier this year.

India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant, who got injured during the fourth Test match of the five-Test match series against England, is likely to miss the series and in his absence, Dhruv Jurel is expected to keep wickets. Jurel is currently a part of the India A squad who are featuring against Australia A in a two-match unofficial Test series. Jagadeesan, who opened in the first match against Australia A as well as swapped keeping duties with Jurel, could be the back-up in case the selectors opt for a second specialist wicketkeeper for the West Indies series.

West Indies Test squad vs India

his will be the first time that the West Indies will play a Test series against India since 2018. The island nation made three changes from their squad who featured against Australia, adding Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze, along with a maiden test call-up for left arm spinner Khary Pierre.
