India defeated West Indies by 7 wickets in 2nd Test

India defeated West Indies comfortably by 7 wickets in the second Test and did a clean sweep over their opponents in the two-match series. However, despite the victory, one of the main talking points of the match was the Men in Blue deciding to enforce follow-on over the visitors after they had taken a mammoth 270-run lead ahead of their second innings. However, the decision didn't really go as planned and the West Indies put 390 runs on the board before being bundled out.

The duo of John Campbell and Shai Hope scored monumental centuries while the likes of Roston Chase (40), Justin Greaves (50*) and Jayden Seales (32) played important cameos as the Windies set up a target of 121 for India during the final session of Day 4. India skipper Shubman Gill had received a lot of criticism from fans after his decision to enforce follow-on didn't work in the side's favour. Following the conclusion of the match, Gill explained why they had decided to hand follow-on to their opponents.

"We were around 300 runs ahead. We thought even if we scored like 500 runs and we have to get 6 or 7 wickets on day 5, it could be a tough day for us. So, that was the thought process," Gill said at the post-match presentation.
