Story Highlights:

Smriti Mandhana scored her first half-century for Adelaide Strikers.

Lizelle Lee was run out for 103.

A few days after breaking the record for highest score in Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) history with unbeaten 150, Hobart Hurricanes opener Lizelle Lee scripted history again in the ongoing season. Lee scored 103 against Adelaide Strikers on November 13 to become the first batter in WBBL history to score two consecutive centuries.

Retired South Africa wicketkeeper-batter is only the second batter in women's T20s to achieve this feat. Argentina's Maria Casterineiras achieved the rare feat last year.

Lizelle goes berserk, Nicola scores fifty

At Bellerieve Oval, Hobarat, Adelaide Strikers captain Tahlia McGrath won the toss and opted to bowl first. The in-form Lizelle wasn't affected by Danielle Wyatt Hodge getting out for a golden duck in the first over to Megan Schutt. She hit Orla Prendergast for a six and two fours in the second over. In the ninth over, she reached her half-century from 35 balls with a six over Jemma Barsby. She accelerated in the middle overs and reached her century with a boundary in the 15th over over Amanda-Jade Wellington.

She took 58 deliveries to reach three figures, only  23 more after reaching her half-century. She would have crossed her previous best but was run out by Jemma in the 15th over. The opener scored 103 runs from 39 balls. Her knock featured 13 fours and four sixes.

After Lizelle departed, Nicola Carey reached her half-century from 39 balls. Nicola remained unbeaten for 64 off 46 balls including seven fours and a six. Skipper Elyse Villani contributed with a 14-ball 23 to help Hobart Hurricanes post 191/2.

Mandhana scores fifty

In reply, Smriti Mandhana got Adelaide off to a good start despite Katie Mack taking her time. She hit the first six in the second over. After powerplay overs, Adelaide Strikers were 63 for no loss. The Indian opener reached her half-century from 30 balls in the seventh over. Lauren Smith ended Mandhana's stay at the crease. The left-handed batter scored 51 runs from 32 balls including six fours and a couple of sixes.

Laura couldn't get Adelaide within striking distance

In the 11th over, Amy Smith ended Katie's troubled stay at the crease. She scored 14 runs from 20 balls. Skipper McGrath could not make a mark either. She fell to Molly Strano in the 13th over for a single-digit score. The required run rate kept climing up and Strikers could not keep up with it. Bridget Patterson remained unbeaten for 23 off 20 balls. Laura finished the innings with a six and three consecutive fours off Strano. The South Africa captain's knock of 40-ball 63 was laced with seven fours and a six. Adelaide Strikers managed to post 163/3 and lost the match by 28 runs.
