Former England captain reckons that South Africa are on the verge of defeating Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final to win their maiden title. The Proteas have shifted the momentum of the game in a 282-run chase at iconic Lord's Stadium in England.
Vaughan took his 'X', formerly known as Twitter, to praise Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram for their steady stand on the day 3 of the WTC final.
"SA playing with so much control at the moment .. No seam or swing and very little spin .. the trophy is in touching distance" posted Vaughan.
Coming back to the match, after opting to bowl the Temba Bavuma-led side bundled out Australia on just 212 runs, where Kagiso Rabada picked a fifer. While batting in the first innings, South Africa managed to score just 138 as Pat Cummins picked up six wickets. Australia, who were leading, again scored 207 runs in the second innings to put 281 runs on board.
South Africa who needed 282 runs to win the WTC final, were off to a bad start, but then skipper Temba Bavuma joined Aiden Markram and both batters shifted the momentum of the game.
