DC have announced Pragati Singh and E Srujana as Deeya and Mamatha's replacements

Delhi Capitals (DC) have faced a double setback ahead of their upcoming Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 fixtures, as both Deeya Yadav and Mamatha Madiwala have been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to injuries. To fill these gaps, the franchise has signed 22-year-old all-rounder Pragati Singh and 20-year-old seamer E Srujana. Both replacements have joined the squad at their base price of 10 lakh.

Pragati Singh arrives with a solid reputation from the Punjab domestic circuit, where she has proven herself as a capable middle-order batter and seam bowler. During the Senior Women's T20 Trophy, she was a standout performer for Punjab, finishing as their second-highest run-scorer. E Srujana, meanwhile, is a familiar face to the Capitals, having previously served as a net bowler for the franchise. The Hyderabad seamer has been rising through the age-group ranks and made her senior domestic debut during the 2023-24 season.

The loss of Deeya Yadav is particularly notable, as the 16-year-old recently made history as the youngest player to ever debut in the WPL during a match against the Mumbai Indians in Vadodara. While Madiwala had yet to make her first appearance for the team, these injuries add to a growing list of absences for DC, who are already playing without Australian star Annabel Sutherland after she withdrew for personal reasons before the season began.

Currently sitting fourth in the points table with a record of two wins and three losses, the Delhi Capitals are in a critical phase of their campaign. The team will be hoping their new recruits can integrate quickly as they prepare for a high-stakes encounter against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on January 24.
