Gujarat Giants pulled off a thrilling three-run win against Delhi Capitals in a nail-biting contest that went right down to the final ball. Batting first, Gujarat scored 174 for 9 in their 20 overs. Delhi fought hard in reply but could only manage 171 for 8, falling short by just three runs.
Beth Mooney played a crucial role for Gujarat by playing a calm and composed 58-run knock. Sophie Devine was the pick of the bowlers for her iconic performance under pressure. She picked up four wickets as the Gujarat-based franchise dramatically sealed the victory on the last ball.
Gujarat's batting
Gujarat failed to get a good start as Sophie Devine dismissed early after scoring just 13 runs by Marizanne Kapp. After losing the opener in quick succession, Anushka Sharma and Beth Mooney stitched a 73-run stand to shift the momentum of the game.
Anushka looked in good touch and scored 39 runs off 25 balls before being dismissed by Sri Charani, who was impressive with the ball. After her dismissal, Mooney continued to anchor the innings but struggled to find consistent support from the other end.

Gujarat managed to push their score to a competitive 174 despite losing regular wickets. For Delhi, Sri Charan was the standout bowler, finishing with four wickets.

Delhi fall just short in chase
Delhi Capitals failed to get a good start while chasing as openers Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee were dismissed cheaply for 14 and 11, falling to Gaikwad and Devine respectively. Laura Wolvaardt tried to steady the innings with 24 off 23 balls but was also removed by Gaikwad.
Captain Jemimah Rodrigues failed to make a big impact, scoring 16 before being dismissed by Devine. Marizanne Kapp was out for a duck, while Chinelle Henry managed only 9 runs, leaving Delhi under pressure.
Nikki Prasad shifted the game in Delhi's favour after the side was reeling as she scored a fighting knock of 47 runs, supported well by Sneh Rana, who scored 29. The match came down to the final ball, with Delhi needing 4 runs to win.
But Sophie Devine held her nerve and dismissed Nikki on the last delivery, turning the game in Gujarat’s favour.
