Indian women's team is all set to begin its campaign for the T20 World Cup, scheduled for England from June 14. The squad for the competition was announced on Saturday, May 2, where a star player was snubbed from the team in a stunning decision. The player in question is the injured Amanjot Kaur, the all-rounder who played a crucial role in India's maiden ICC Women's Cricket World Cup title last year.

Now, the head coach of the Indian women's team, Amol Muzumdar, has spilled the beans on her absence, revealing how the team is going to miss her expertise.

Amol Muzumdar on Amanjot Kaur's T20 World Cup snub

Muzumdar, along with the World Cup champion Jemimah Rodrigues, attended the IISM Degree Distribution Ceremony in Mumbai on Sunday, May 3, where they addressed the media and answered their T20 World Cup-related questions.

When the coach was asked about Kaur, who suffered a back injury after the ODI and T20I series against Australia in February, and if the team had any like-for-like replacement for her, Muzumdar replied:

"It's really difficult to replace someone like Amanjot because she's been consistently doing well for India. We'll miss her for sure, but injuries are a part of the game, and she has had a bad one. She will be out of cricket for at least four to five months. I hope she recovers really well and comes back stronger. She's difficult to replace, but that's the way it looks."
