Italian giants AC Milan are considering signing Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson as a replacement amid Chelsea's interest on goalkeeper Mike Maignan. The French player is expected to depart the San Siro in the summer.
Alisson's importance at Liverpool
Alisson has been a pivotal figure for Liverpool since his arrival from AS Roma in the summer of 2018. The Brazilian player has made 312 appearances across all competitions, registering 131 clean sheets and winning every possible major championship except the UEFA Europa League.

Despite being contracted to the Anfield side till the summer of 2027, Alisson, 33 could leave at the end of the season, as reported by Sky Sport in Switzerland, as a replacement for Maignan, who is set to join Chelsea on a free transfer.

For AC Milan, Maignan has registered 67 clean sheets in 179 games across all competitions, including eight in 16 games his season, since joining the side in the summer of 2021. However, with Chelsea intensifying their move of Maignan, Milan have picked Alisson as a like-for-like replacement and possibly even an upgrade.
Alisson's mixed season for Liverpool
Alisson has been out of form this season, securing four clean sheets in 14 games across all competitions, with three of them coming in the Premier League, where Arne Slot's team are in the midst of stuttering title defense.
Next fixtures for Chelsea and Liverpool
Liverpool and Chelsea have had exactly opposite seasons. While the Reds managed to have a bright start to their Premier League campaign, securing wins in their opening five fixtures - they have since won just two in their next 10, losing six.
Although after their 1-0 UEFA Champions League win against Inter Milan on Tuesday on December 9, the Reds are on four-game unbeaten streak across all competitions. They will lock horns with Brighton at home on Saturday, December 13, hoping to snap a two-game drawing streak in the league, including a 3-3 draw at Leeds United last weekend.
On the other hand, Chelsea picked up a 2-1 UEFA Champions League defeat at Atlanta on Tuesday, extending their winless streak to four matches. Enzo Maresca's team had drawn goalless in the Premier League at the Weekend and next play Everton at home on Saturday.
Chelsea are fifth in the standings, with 23 points from 15 games, winning seven, two points and five points ahead of Slot's side, who are 10 points behind leaders Arsenal (33).
