The former coach of Real Madrid star Arda Guller has alleged that the midfielder has informed about the bullying that he faces at the club. The Türkiye international has been a Los Blancos player since 2024, having joined from Fenerbahce.
Arda Guler facing bullying at Real Madrid?
Serhat Pekmezci, who had a stint with Guler as a youngster in his native Türkiye, disclosed that the 21-year-old midfielder is facing bullying from a group of senior players. He claimed that these players did not accept the youngster. He also said that Jurgen Klopp has asked that some players be sold if he is to become the club's next manager.
"Although Real Madrid is a prestigious club, Arda Guler is being bullied. He didn't complain to me, but he knew this would happen. I advised him to be patient. The bullying was coming from the players. There is a group that did not accept Arda; unfortunately, these are players with a lot of ego. Klopp has already stated that some players need to leave in order for him to arrive. That's why Xabi Alonso also left. Arda is always patient, but he said it outright: 'Why me specifically? Why should I leave?' Arda Guler seems unhappy with the way his season has gone with Real Madrid. He started as a regular starter under the coach, but his role has clearly diminished after Bellingham recovered from his injuries... Too much arrogance", he said (via kooora.com).
Arda Guler was considered as the ideal replacement for Luka Modric at the club after Xabi Alonso decided against extending the Croatian's contract. He played a starring role for the side at the beginning of the season but saw his minutes reduced as he faced a dip in form.
Guler has appeared in all seven matches under the coaching of Alvaro Arbeloa, completing 90 minutes only once, in the surprising defeat against Albacete. This season, he has scored four goals and gave 14 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Real Madrid star gets relief after red card on loan
Real Madrid striker Endrick has got some relief after his red card for Olympique Lyon last weekend. The Brazilian player, who is on loan at the Ligue 1 club, was slapped with a red card in the second half of their game against Nantes.
Endrick's case has been reevaluated by the Disciplinary Committee of the LFP, and they have decided that instead of a ban of two three games, the striker will miss just one game. It was ruled that his actions warranted two yellow cards and not a straight red card, based off of video.
The Real Madrid loanee will now only miss the game against Nice this Sunday, and will be back to face Strasbourg on February 22. The 19-year-old has scored six goals in as many appearances since joining Lyon on loan last month.
