Things are not looking good for Cristiano Ronaldo fans, as the Portuguese icon suffered a hamstring injury in the Saudi Pro League clash against Al-Fayha on February 28. But Al-Nassr coach Jorge Jesus' recent comments on the club skipper is not looking good at this point of time, as the league title race is getting very close.
Bad news for Al-Nassr
Ahead of a game against Neom SC, Jorge Jesus appeared in the pre-match press conference, where he gave a scary update on Ronaldo's injury.
Jesus revealed that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's injury was far more serious that it appeared initially. They have let him travel to Spain for better recovery. He also confirmed that the Portuguese icon will miss the next two SPL games.
"In the last game, Cristiano left with a muscle injury. After the tests he underwent, it became clear that it is a more serious injury than we were expecting. He will need rest and recovery. Cristiano will travel to Spain for treatment, as will other players who were injured. He will need treatment from his personal physiotherapist. We hope he will return soon to help the team," said Jorge Jesus.
Al-Nassr alive in the title race
The Al-Nassr will lock horns with the Neom SC on Sunday, March 8. As of now, the Knights of Najd have played 24 games so far in the SPL where they managed to secure 61 points and rank second in the league standings.
They are facing tough competition from table toppers Al-Ahli who have amassed 62 points from 25 matches so far. If Al-Nassr secures a win against Neom SC, then they can lead the table for some time.
