There is no doubt that Portugal are one of the strong favorites for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, but there is always pressure coming with a tournament like this. Recently, Portugal's star midfielder, Bruno Fernandes has opened up on the team's chances in the marquee tournament.

Big task for Portugal

The Manchester United star has said that he and the Portugal national team will display a strong mindset to secure the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The star midfielder also said that he is not feeling any pressure because it is a big chance for A Selecao to shine at the biggest stage.

On being questioned about Portugal's chances of winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Fernandes responded saying, it's a big stage for everyone in the team to shine and prove their potential.

"As a national team player, I don’t see this as pressure, I see it as a positive opportunity. People see us as talented players, as a strong team, and as a national squad capable of achieving great accomplishments. We need to turn that into a strength for us," said Bruno Fernandes.

 

 

He also said that there is no reason to feel scared as they will approach every team in the tournament with respect and with an aim to win.

"There’s no need to fear anything. We must respect them, I believe everyone will respect Portugal, and we will respect them in return, but we will approach every match with the aim to win," added Fernandes.
