Chelsea has confirmed Liam Rosenior as the new head coach of the club, less than a week after Enzo Maresca departed on New Year’s Day. According to reports, the reason for his exit came after a breakdown in relations with the club hierarchy. 

Meanwhile, Rosenior is coming from Strasbourg to take charge of the Blues and has signed a contract until 2032. The club took over its official social media account to confirm the announcement of his six-and-a-half-year deal.

Ahead of the official announcement. Rosenior had already confirmed his imminent move to Stamford Bridge during his appearance at a Strasbourg press conference on Tuesday morning. The 41-year-old stated that he was "ready" to take over the charge of one of the biggest Premier League sides. 

Rosenior was born on July 9, 1984, in Wandsworth, England. The new Chelsea boss is a former player who either played as a full-back or a winger. The English manager made his appearance for several teams, like Bristol City, Fulham, Torquay United, Reading, Ipswich Town, Hull City, and Brighton & Hove Albion.  

Rosenior also played for England U20 and U21 international sides, scoring once to his name. Talking about his managerial career, he was an interim coach at Derby County in 2022. He also managed EFL Championship side Hull City from November 2022 to May 2024. Before taking over the charge of Chesle, he managed Strasbourg.
