Chelsea have sacked head coach Liam Rosenior with immediate effect after only four months at the role, the club confirmed on Wednesday. The decision comes after a dismal run of five consecutive Premier League defeats in which the team failed to score a single goal, piling pressure on the 41-year-old.
The Premier League side recently suffered a 3-0 loss at Brighton on Tuesday in addition to missing out on the UEFA Champions League qualification. They have now dropped to seventh in the EPL points table.
Chelsea fires head coach Liam Rosenior with immediate effect
Rosenior was appointed to manage the Blues in January 2026. Rosenior, who signed a multi-year contract to replace Enzo Maresca, lasted just 107 days in the role. The sacking marks yet another chapter in Chelsea’s turbulent managerial carousel.
Rosenior’s brief tenure saw the side struggle for form and attacking output, with the winless streak proving decisive. According to reports, the club will owe significant compensation as part of the multi-year deal agreed earlier this year. The move underscores the ongoing instability at Stamford Bridge, where frequent changes at the top have become a recurring theme in recent seasons.
