Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he does not want to win the FIFA World Cup. In his latest interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan, the Al-Nassr striker made a huge claim regarding his World Cup dream.

Cristiano Ronaldo does not want to win the FIFA World Cup?

Ronaldo has won a total of 34 trophies across his legendary career and has also won countless individual accolades. However, the biggest trophy in world football i.e. the World Cup has eluded him so far.

Cristiano Ronaldo's long-standing rivalry with Lionel Messi was almost over after the latter led Argentina to success in the World Cup in 2022. Now, the 40-year-old has made an unique claim that he does not want to win the biggest trophy in international football. In his interview with Piers Morgan, he said, as quoted by Piers Morgan uncensored on YouTube:

"If you ask me Cristiano is a dream to win the World Cup? No, it's not a dream."

Morgan then said:

"But it shouldn't define you as a footballer."

The former Manchester United star then said:

"No. To define what? To define if I'm one of the best in history to win one competition, six games, seven games. You think it's fair?"

Cristiano to play sixth FIFA World Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo and his arch rival Lionel Messi are both likely to become the first two players ever to play in six World Cup campaigns. Even if Ronaldo says that he does not dream of winning the World Cup, winning it in 2026 would certainly make his resume even more impressive.

Cristiano Ronaldo has played a pivotal role for Portugal over the years and is the most-capped player in football history. Amassing 143 goals in 225 games, he is also the highest number of goals at the international stage by some distance.
