Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired a large stake in a Spanish side this week to become the majority owner of that club. The club’s name is UD Almería, which was founded in 1989. 

The club has been under the control of Saudi Arabian owners for over six years. Mohamed Al-Khereiji is the new addition to become the new owner and the president of the club in the summer of 2025, when he bought it from Turki Al Alsheikh.

The club welcomed its new majority owner by an stagemnt on their official social media account. 

The Al Nassr striker also commented on the deal by saying in a statement: 

"I have long had the ambition to contribute to football beyond the pitch.”

The Real Madrid legend has earlier revealed his desire to become a club owner, and this might be a step forward towards it. Meanwhile, the Segunda División side, which plays its home games in the UD Almeria Stadium, is 3rd in La Liga 2. They are set to face Albacete next, on Saturday.
