Cristiano Ronaldo has posted a message on social media after his great last-gasp penalty helped Al-Nassr to clinch a 2-1 win against Al-Feiha. The Knights of Najd moved three points clear at the summit of the Saudi Pro League, extending their 100% record in the League this season.
Al-Nassr wanted an immediate response following their elimination from King's Cup at the hands of Al-Ittihad in mid-week as they returned to league action. The lead atop the table had been eclipsed after Al-Taawoun's victory early in the day, but Cristiano Ronaldo continued his scoring form with a brace. After the match, the 40-year-old forward took to social media to share his never-say-die attitude, celebrating the win.
"ALL THE WAY TO THE END!!".
Ronaldo continued his fine form in the league, scoring once in each half to take his tally for the season to eight goals in only seven games. The Portugal international also took his career tally to 952 goals, moving him slightly closer to 1000-mark.
Cristiano Ronaldo leads Al-Nassr to win against Al-Feiha
Cristiano Ronaldo played a key role for Al-Nassr as they came from behind to keep their unbeaten record alive in the Saudi Pro League. The Knights of Najd ran out 2-1 winners against Al-Feiha, inflicting a third loss in seven league matches upon their opponents.
The League leaders were looking for a response after facing a 2-1 defeat against Al-Ittihad in the Round of 16 of the King's Cup on Tuesday and crashing out of the tournament. They were, however, surprised, when Spaniard Jason finished off a ball into the box after just 13 minutes, putting his side ahead with his second goal of the season.
Al-Nassr made a roaring comeback and drew level in the 37th minute of the encounter through their talismanic skipper Ronaldo. The veteran striker was on hand to turn the ball home from close range after great approach play from fellow Kingsley Coman.
With the match appearing to head for a draw, Cristiano Ronaldo would have the final say after his side were given a penalty after a VAR intervention. Abdulelah Al-Amri was deemed to have been fouled during an aerial duel in the box allowing Ronaldo to score in the 15th minute of added time to claim the win.
