Denmark updates on Christian Eriksen's condition after his on-pitch collapse during friendlies
Eriksen clutched his chest and fell to the ground in the 65th minute at Nature Energy Park. Medical staff quickly attended to him, and he briefly lost consciousness before regaining it rapidly. According to Denmark’s national team doctor Morten Boesen, Eriksen walked off the pitch unaided, and his implanted pacemaker responded correctly. He was taken to hospital for further examinations. Boesen said in an official statement
“Christian is doing well and left the field himself.”
The statement further read:
“As I see it, the pacemaker responded as it should. He was briefly unconscious, but regained consciousness very quickly... Christian is doing well, and he asked me to greet all the players and say that he was OK.”
The incident echoes Eriksen’s cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, after which he received a pacemaker and made a remarkable return to professional football. The incident had everyone praying for the footballer all over the world. He currently plays for VfL Wolfsburg.
