FC Barcelona secured their 29th La Liga title on Sunday, May 10, 2026, with a commanding 2-0 victory over arch-rivals Real Madrid in El Clásico at Spotify Camp Nou.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a curled free-kick into the top corner, and Ferran Torres added a second goal in the 18th minute, putting the match beyond doubt early and opening an unassailable 14-point lead with three games remaining.

The result handed Hansi Flick’s side back-to-back La Liga crowns while condemning Real Madrid to a trophyless season. Barcelona dominated from the outset, celebrating their second consecutive title against their fiercest rivals for the first time in club history.

Los Blancos, who entered needing a win to delay the inevitable, struggled to mount a response after the early double blow. The victory caps a dominant campaign for Barcelona, who have lost only four league matches all season.

For Alvaro Arbeloa’s side, the heavy defeat in the eyes of their supporters intensifies scrutiny on the squad and leadership amid a disappointing year across all competitions. The club is reportedly bringing back Jose Mourinho as its head coach.
