FC Barcelona has received an unfortunate blow in the form of Pedri’s injury, who will be sidelined for a lengthy period. The UEFA Champions League had just resumed, with the Spanish giants claiming a stunning 4-2 victory over  Slavia Prague. However, moving forward with several clashes lined up, the La Liga side will be without their key player, who is set to miss multiple matches.

Huge blow for Barca as Pedri sidelined for a lengthy timeframe

Pedri will be out for a month following a hamstring injury, as per a report by FC Barcelona. The player did not start in the recent match against Slavia and was substituted in the second half of the match on Wednesday.

The Spaniard had just returned after the game for further tests on the knock. It was then confirmed that he will be ruled out until the end of February. In the meantime, the La Liga leaders will play seven matches, which feature back-to-back home matches. They will ace Real Oviedo in LaLiga on Sunday, followed by a UCL clash against Copenhagen next Wednesday.

Pedri will miss the games against Elche, Girona, Mallorca, and Levante. He will also be out against a Copa del Rey quarterfinal clash against Albacete in February. Meanwhile, the league toppers will also be without Frenkie de Jong against Copenhagen. The midfielder has been suspended as he picked up his third booking in the competition this season against Prague.
