Real Madrid continues to get unfortunate news amid their struggles, while Xabi Alonso’s job is on the line. The latest bad update is that star player Kylian Mbappe did not train with the club and might not play against the important UEFA Champions League fixture against Manchester City.
Earlier, the Los Blancos lost Eder Militiao, who will be sidelined for two to three months, while they already lack Trent Arnold Alexander in the backline.
Kylian Mbappe did not train with Real Madrid; doubt against Man City UCL clash
According to a post by Fabrizio Romano on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Mbappe was absent from Real Madrid training the day before the match against City. Marca has declared the Frenchman as a ‘serious doubt’ for the clash against the Sky Blues.
The World Cup winner suffered a fracture to his finger in Madrid’s 0-2 loss against Celta Vigo in La Liga. The Los Blancos striker is recovering a muscle discomfort. However, his presence has not been officially ruled out as of now.
It would be a heavy blow for Alonso if the Real Madrid striker is unable to play on Wednesday against Pep Guardiola’s squad. It has also been reported that the White’s defeat would lead to Alonso’s premature dismissal mid-season.

Meanwhile, the France International has netted 25 times in 21 matches across all competitions this season and plays a pivotal role for the 15-time UCL champions. While Alonso, the former Liverpool midfielder, would want him to perform at his best level, it remains to be seen if Mbappe is fully fit to appear in the clash to stop Erling Haaland’s magic.
