Alisson Becker started the game for Brazil as they hosted Colombia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier at Brasilia. But, his time on the field was cut down after he was taken off in the 78th minute. The 32-year-old goalie was taken off with a suspected concussion after a nasty collision with Colombian defender Sanchez in the second half of the match.

A recent report from the Reds suggest that the former AS Roma goalie has left the Brazil squad and returned to the Merseyside, cutting short his involvement in the international engagement. He will now undergo further scans under the supervision of the Reds' medical staff and even had some tests while with the Brazil squad.

Bento, who is the goalie for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, will replace Becker and will continue in the goal for Brazil. Th South American giants will next face Argentina in the second of the two World Cup qualifiers scheduled for the month of March. The highly anticipated Argentina vs Brazil clash will take place on March 25.

Liverpool will be hoping that Alisson, who has been in terrific form in the recent past, has not endured any major injury. Arne Slot will hope that his No.1 goalie choice is fully fit and takes part in the Merseyside derby against Everton on April 1 at Anfield.

Alisson Becker becomes the second Liverpool player who has returned back to the club from their national duty. Ryan Gravenberch was the first player to return back to the club as he sustained his injury during the 2-0 loss in the Carabao Cup final to Newcastle United. He departed from the Netherlands camp shortly after joining the team.

New Liverpool goalkeeper has sent warning to Alisson Becker

New Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili has sent a message to future teammate Alisson Becker, warning him of his impending arrival at the club. The Reds signed Mamardashvili from Valencia last summer but will join the club at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper is at loan at Valencia. He recently spoke to Geo Team about his future ambitions with the club. He mentioned his plans on how he will earn the No.1 shirt and give the coach a headache on who to pick in goal.

I’m going to Liverpool to fight to be number one. I’ll go, I’ll train, and I’ll give my best. Then the coach will decide. I’m not the one who decides who plays and who doesn’t.

Mamardashvili costed the Reds around €30 million and will take over the number-two role from Caoimhim Kelleher from the club. Currently, Becker is the first choice goalie for Liverpool and Arne Slot as Mamardashvili will try his best to displace the Brazilian.
