Manchester United agrees €45m deal for Atalanta midfielder

The Red Devils have reached an agreement with Atalanta for the transfer of Brazilian central midfielder Éderson, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 26-year-old is set to join the English Premier League side in a deal worth €45 million, with medical examinations and final formalities now pending.

Ederson is expected to sign a four-year contract with the option of an additional year. He has established himself as one of Serie A’s most dynamic midfielders since joining Atalanta in 2022, making over 130 appearances and playing a key role in the club’s 2024 Europa League triumph.

Known for his box-to-box energy, strong tackling, progressive passing, and tireless work rate, he addresses a long-standing need in United’s engine room for physicality and ball progression. The signing marks the first major move in Manchester United’s midfield rebuild under manager Carrick as the club looks to add fresh legs and quality ahead of the new season.
