Inter Miami and Argentina international, Lionel Messi has revealed the five players which are followed by their children in today's time. The 37-year-old Barcelona legend has three sons and all of them grew up watching their father play at the highest level.

While talking to Simplemente Futbol,  the eight time Ballon d'Or winner spoke on various topics, which included his kids' favorite players. The forward mentioned that his kids follow Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland. 

The players my kids are following? Mbappé, Vinicius, Yamal, Lewandowski, Haaland...

Messi's kids only follow attacker players in the sport due to their interest and also because their father plays in the same role. The 2022 World Cup winner's eldest son, Thiago is currently representing Inter Miami at the U-13 level. His other two kids, Mateo and Ciro and playing in their respected age groups. 

His sons watch his former Paris Saint Germain teammate Mbappe along with two Ballon d'Or hopefuls in Erling Haaland and Vinicius Jr. They remain loyal to the club which made Messi a household name, Barcelona as they like to see their young sensation Lamine Yamal along with 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski. 

Back in December 2024, Messi shared a video on his Instagram account where his eldest son, Thiago is seen sporting a Barcelona jersey with Lamine Yamal's name on the back. This shows the admiration Thiago has for the 17-year-old young prodigy.

The captain of Argentina, Lionel Messi revealed that he hopes of representing his country once again at the highest level as he eyes playing in the 2026 World Cup. His participation in the tournament is currently a hot topic amongst the football fraternity as many cast doubt over his potential outing. 

During his same interview with Simplemente Futbol, Messi mentioned that the tournament is still far away and he thinks about it. He further mentioned that his participation would purely depend on how he feels at the time of the iconic event and has set no targets for himself. 

The truth is, if you stop and think about it, it feels far away, but at the same time, time flies. … I’ll see how I feel. Of course I think about it, but I don’t want to set goals either.
