The announcement, confirmed on Tuesday, comes as a result of England's exceptional performance in the UEFA coefficient rankings, which determine extra berths based on the collective results of clubs across European competitions over five years.

This marks a significant boost for English football, driven by strong showings from Premier League sides in the current season's Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

The decision intensifies the battle for European places in the Premier League table this season and beyond. Teams such as Chelsea and Liverpool, currently outside the traditional top-four cutoff, now have renewed hope of securing Champions League football through a fifth-place finish.
