Another bad news for Real Madrid as the team has now lost their superstar player for two Champions League games following a ban just when the Madridistas were already recovering from the 5-2 loss.
Real Madrid left shorthanded following star player’s two-match ban in UCL
Dani Carvajal, who has been an integral part of the team, has now been banned for two UCL matches. The Spaniard was booked with a Red card in the tournament’s opener against Olympique de Marseille after the 33-year-old lost his composure in an altercation with goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli.
Carvajal was substituted for a headbutt in the match following which, the Los Blancos were left with 10 men. Meanwhile, the tournament governing body has now confirmed his suspension for two matches. The 15-time UCL winners are now without their first-choice right-backs as Trent Alexander-Arnold is also ruled out for a few weeks.

The La Liga team has some important fixtures coming up including one with arch-rivals FC Barcelona as they play the first El Clasico of the season. It is to be seen if Xabi Alonso’s side are lucky enough to get Carvajal back against the eagerly awaited clash.
The Spanish giants are set to face Kairat next; a team which is participating in the Champions League main draw for the first time after successfully negotiating their way through qualifying. Real Madrid will be optimistic and use the weekend's disappointment as fuel for their maiden encounter.
