After a series of reports suggested that Mohamed Salah might make a return to AS Roma, despite this, Liverpool icon, Steven Gerrard believes that the Egyptian forward might join a Saudi Pro League based club.

Mohamed Salah to join Saudi Pro League based club?

Last week, Mohamed Salah revealed that he will depart from Liverpool at the end of the ongoing season. The former Roma player had a long stint of nine years for the Reds.

In an interaction with The Overlap 'Stick to Football', Steven Gerrard strongly suggested that the 33-year-old forward might join a club in the Saudi Pro League.

"I don't think he would do that. I wouldn't be surprised if it's another big club somewhere else but I don't think he will go to a rival [in England]. I think it will be Saudi. Having lived over there and how he is thought of around there, I think it will be (his next move). If I had to put money on it, I would say that."

The Egyptian forward, arrived at Liverpool from AS Roma in the season of 2017, and managed to score 255 goals in 435 appearances and helped the Reds to win two Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups, and FA Community Shield.

Mohamed Salah's underwhelming 2025-26 season

In the ongoing season, Mohamed Salah failed to create his impact which led to Liverpool's poor outings. The Reds forward managed to amass only five goals and six assists in 22 Premier League games. In the UEFA Champions League, the Egyptian scored three goals and two assists.
