The former Real Madrid left-back was filmed shouting, fist-pumping, and grinning widely while watching the squad announcement on television, which displayed Neymar’s image alongside the phrase “Bate no Peito” (“Beat on the Chest”).

The emotional reaction, shared widely on social media, underscored the enduring friendship within the Brazilian national team as they prepare for the tournament. Ancelotti’s squad selection marks a significant moment for the 34-year-old Neymar, who has battled fitness issues in recent years but remains a talismanic figure for Brazil.

The coach has stated building squad harmony and leadership, pairing experienced stars like Neymar with a core of younger talents. The announcement sets the stage for Brazil’s campaign in the 2026 World Cup, with expectations high for the five-time champions. Neymar’s presence is expected to boost team morale, while Marcelo’s visible excitement serves as a reminder of the deep bonds that continue to define the Seleção beyond the pitch.
