Xavi Hernandez, as per a report by Fabrizio Romano, is ready for another managerial job and the former FC Barcelona head coach might fit to lead struggling Manchester United. Amid the rumours, an old report of the former midfielder and his admiration for the Red Devils has been making the rounds on the internet.
Xavi Hernandez once revealed his ‘real attachment’ to Manchester United
According to a report in ESPN, Xavi revealed what he feels about the Premier League side. The 45-year-old said in 2011:
"There was a long time when I genuinely thought about accepting United's offer.”
The Spanish legend further told the aforementioned source:
“I needed a change of scenery and things were not going well for me at Barcelona.”
Speaking of his connection with the football team, he told the same source:
"I have always felt a real attachment to English football and Manchester United would be 'my club' there.”
The United team is currently struggling following their recent loss against Brentford with a score of 3-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium. The club based in Greater Manchester suffered their third defeat in six Premier League games, and there might be possibilities that the English side is in the hunt for a new manager.
Although reports are stating that club manager Ruben Amorim has all the support and is backed by the team. However, if this continues and the team decides to change minds, Xavi is already looking for one and this time, he is without any role since his sacking by the Spanish giants when he was replaced by Hansi Flick.
Italian transfer expert Romano has already stated recently via Caught Offside that the former midfielder “is studying the Premier League” and “would immediately go to Man United.” It is to be seen how the club performs in the upcoming matches and hence, the outcome would be decided as per the results.
