In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, Puneri Paltan clinched a commanding 46-28 victory against Patna Pirates in a Season 10 Pro Kabaddi League match held at the SDAT Multipurpose Indoor Stadium on Tuesday. The standout performer of the match was Pankaj Mohite, who achieved a Super 10, while Abinesh Nadarajan secured a High 5, contributing significantly to their team's win.
Puneri Paltan, riding high on the momentum of three consecutive home leg victories last week, dominated the game from the start. Their raiders and defenders synergized effectively, propelling them to a quick 6-1 lead within the first four minutes. Although the Patna Pirates briefly rallied with Sachin's Super Tackle and Manjeet's multi-point raid, their hopes of a turnaround were dashed by a spectacular raid from Pankaj Mohite. In a stunning move, he evaded five defenders to complete a Super Raid, followed by an All Out, pushing Puneri Paltan to a 14-8 lead by the 10th minute.
Maintaining their aggressive gameplay, Puneri Paltan extended their lead to 22-15 by the end of the first half, showcasing their raiding prowess and tactical acumen.
The second half of the match was overwhelmingly dominated by Puneri Paltan. Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Chiyaneh, showcasing his versatility, amassed 4 points from just two raids, which included a Super Raid. He further bolstered the team's position with a remarkable double ankle hold on Sudhakar M, extending Paltan's lead to a substantial 16 points at 38-22.
The team effort from Puneri Paltan was evident as every player in their starting seven contributed to the scoreboard. Mohit Goyat added 9 points, while Chiyaneh and team captain Aslam Inamdar each chipped in with 6 points, playing crucial roles in securing a dominant win over the three-time champions, Patna Pirates.
This victory further solidified Puneri Paltan's top position in the PKL points table, marking them as the only team with six wins in the season so far. Their comprehensive performance against the Pirates showcased their strength and potential as a leading contender in the league.
