At the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, U Mumba achieved a decisive 46-33 victory over Tamil Thalaivas. The standout performers for U Mumba were raiders Guman Singh and Amirmohammad Zafardanesh, each registering Super 10s and collectively scoring 21 points.
The match began with both teams exchanging successful raids, maintaining a tight scoreline. However, the momentum shifted dramatically following Guman Singh's super raid, propelling U Mumba ahead. By halftime, Guman had amassed 11 points from 9 raids, contributing to U Mumba's 20 raid points in the first half.
Amirmohammad Zafardanesh, U Mumba's other key raider, played a crucial role in securing the first ALL OUT of the match, extending their lead to 19-9. U Mumba entered the break with an 11-point advantage.
In the second half, Tamil Thalaivas briefly halted U Mumba's scoring, but U Mumba's effective defense kept the Thalaivas at bay. Zafardanesh's timely SUPER RAID further widened the gap between the teams.
This raid led to a second ALL OUT, giving U Mumba a substantial 40-24 lead with just five minutes remaining. Despite efforts by the Thalaivas to minimize their loss and earn a point, U Mumba's relentless defense sealed their significant win.
Panthers peg back Pirates
In other thrilling contest on Sunday, Patna Pirates initially took an eight-point lead in the first half, but Jaipur Pink Panthers made an impressive comeback in the second half to secure a narrow 29-28 win. The standout player of the match was raider V Ajith Kumar, who earned 14 raid points and two tackle points.
The match began with the Pirates gaining an early lead, scoring 2-0 in the 5th minute through Sachin's raid and Ankit's tackle. Despite several empty raids from both teams, the Pirates gradually extended their lead to 6-1 by the 10th minute, thanks to Ankit's tackle on Bhavani Rajput and Sandeep Kumar's DO OR DIE raid. They then widened their lead further by inflicting the match's first ALL OUT.
Defender Sajin Chandrasekar's strong performance helped the Pirates expand their lead to 13-3 by the 13th minute. Although Arjun Deshwal of the Panthers managed to eliminate Krishan and Sajin Chandrasekar in a single raid, the Pirates maintained their lead at 14-7 by the 18th minute. The first half concluded with the Pirates ahead 16-8.
Sandeep Kumar opened the second half with a couple of successful raids, keeping the Pirates ahead at 18-10 in the 24th minute. A raid by Sachin reduced the Panthers to just two players on the mat, but V Ajith Kumar's SUPER RAID narrowed the gap to 22-15 in the Pirates' favor by the 29th minute.
V Ajith Kumar continued to score for the Panthers, bringing the score to 18-22 in the 31st minute. The Panthers further closed the gap, eventually leveling the score at 24-24 after an ALL OUT. The match then proceeded with both teams evenly matched at 26-26 with just 90 seconds left.
Ajith Kumar's remarkable raid against Neeraj Kumar & Sajin Chandrasekar gave the Panthers a three-point lead at 29-26. In the final raid of the match, Bhavani Rajput ran down the clock, ensuring the Panthers clinched a thrilling one-point victory.
