At the bustling Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi, Dabang Delhi K.C. secured a triumphant 44-33 win over Telugu Titans on Saturday, with Ashu Malik delivering a standout performance by scoring 20 points, becoming the highlight of the evening for the hosts.
The match kicked off with intense competition, as Dabang Delhi K.C. and Telugu Titans battled fiercely for supremacy. Every attempt by Dabang Delhi K.C. to pull ahead was countered by the Titans, ensuring the score remained neck-and-neck for much of the first half. However, the dynamic changed when Dabang Delhi K.C. managed to break away, executing an All-Out that pushed them to a 13-8 lead with just a few minutes remaining before halftime. Despite a spirited response from the Titans to narrow the gap, Dabang Delhi K.C. maintained their lead into the break, although their team was left numerically depleted on the field.
The second half saw Dabang Delhi K.C. come out with renewed aggression, particularly through Ashu Malik, who executed a series of successful raids. His pivotal raid, eliminating key defenders Parvesh Bhainswal and Sandeep Dhull, led to a second All-Out and widened the gap to a 27-16 advantage for the home team.
Malik's exceptional performance played a crucial role in quashing any hopes of a comeback from the Telugu Titans as the game progressed into its final stages. Despite a late resurgence from the Titans, their efforts came too late to alter the outcome of the match. Ultimately, Dabang Delhi K.C. sealed the game with an 11-point lead, marking a significant victory amidst an electric atmosphere at the stadium.
UP Yoddhas outplay U Mumba
U.P. Yoddhas clinched a commanding 39-23 win over U Mumba, thanks to stellar defense by Sumit and impactful raiding from Gagana Gowda and Mahipal. Despite U Mumba's tactical changes and Shivam scoring five points from the bench, the Yoddhas emerged victorious.
The game was initially balanced, with defenses dominating and raiders from both teams struggling in their Do-or-Die raids. U Mumba managed to send U.P. Yoddhas' star raider Pardeep Narwal off the mat for Super Tackle points, marking a high point for them early in the match.
However, as the first half progressed, U.P. Yoddhas began to dominate, leveraging their defensive strength and raiding skills. Highlighted by another Do-or-Die raid and an All-Out orchestrated by Mahipal and Gagana Gowda, both contributing four points each, the Yoddhas pulled ahead. Sumit's High 5, achieved by taking out raider Shivam, signaled the match slipping away from U Mumba. With Pardeep Narwal at the helm, U.P. Yoddhas sealed a significant victory, breaking their losing streak and showcasing their prowess on both defense and offense.
