One of Hamilton's young compatriots will be replacing him when he leaves Ferrari.

He has already beaten Hamilton once when the two faced each other on the track last year.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is all set to sport red as he prepares to make his Ferrari debut in 2025 as his F1 challenger is set to be launched on February 19. The British icon ended his 26-year-long stretch with Mercedes following the conclusion of the 2024 season, where he won the British Grand Prix and the Belgian Grand Prix.

With the stage set for his much-anticipated race in reds, there is an interesting update circulating in the F1 world: one of Hamilton's young compatriots will be replacing him when he leaves Ferrari. In a recent update on the same, the driver who was rumored to be his replacement admitted that he is extremely hopeful of joining Ferrari soon.

Is Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari seat already in danger

It is the 19-year-old Oliver Bearman who has expressed his wish to join Ferrari as he has already proved himself a worthy driver in red when he replaced Carlos Sainz Jr. at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix finishing seventh ahead of a legendary pack including Lando Norris, Nico Hulkenberg, and Hamilton himself. With his F1 debut, Bearman became the youngest British driver in F1 history, and the third youngest overall.

Living his childhood dream, Bearman recently expressed that he aims to race Ferrari once again as racing for the Italian giant has always been his aspiration.

"Growing up and racing for Ferrari has been the greatest pride of my career. I hope to wear the red again very soon, he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

The young Briton who has been an alumnus of Ferrari Driver Academy since 2022 was a reserve driver for them in 2024. Bearman is now set to join MoneyGram Haas F1, the only American team in the current Formula One lineup. He will be pairing up with Esteban Ocon, and together the duo will aim to provide a much-needed push to Haas in the Constructor's Championship, where they finished seventh in the 2024 season with 58 points. One of Bearman's biggest challenges will be scoring points under the newly updated car regulations announced by the FIA for the 2025 season.
