Lando Norris has strengthened his hold on the 2025 Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship after securing a third-place finish at the Bahrain Grand Prix. While it wasn’t a win, the McLaren star’s podium was enough to not only maintain his position at the top but also increase his advantage in the standings.
Before the race, Norris led Max Verstappen by a single point. But a below-par performance from the Red Bull ace saw him drop to third in the title fight. The biggest gainer? Oscar Piastri. Norris’ McLaren teammate delivered a dominant drive to take victory under the lights in Bahrain.
With that win, Piastri now trails Norris by just three points, setting the stage for an exciting early-season battle between the two McLaren teammates.
