The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season is set to rev up in early February, bringing an exciting mix of new venues, expanded media partnerships, and a jam-packed race calendar. From the exhibition Clash race in North Carolina to the high-stakes championship finale in Phoenix, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season.
Season Opener: The clash at Bowman Gray Stadium
Kicking off the season, the NASCAR Cup Series will feature The Clash exhibition race on February 2, moving from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to the historic Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This shift marks a fresh start for the event, and it’s set to deliver high-energy action as drivers prepare for the iconic Daytona 500 on February 16.
Daytona 500 and key races
The season's biggest race, the Daytona 500, takes place on Sunday, February 16, at 2:30 p.m. ET, aired live on Fox. Daytona International Speedway will also serve as the venue for the regular-season finale on August 23, setting the stage for the playoffs that follow.
NASCAR All-Star race and regular season races
The NASCAR All-Star Race will be held on May 18 at North Wilkesboro, adding an extra layer of excitement before the regular season wraps up.
Alongside this, the Cup Series will feature 26 regular-season races, spanning a variety of tracks, including ovals, road courses, and even a hybrid oval/road course. One notable new addition is the Chicago Street Race on July 6, which promises to be a thrilling event for fans and competitors alike.
Playoffs and Championship race
After the regular season concludes, the 10-race playoffs will kick off on August 31 at Darlington Raceway. The playoffs culminate with the highly anticipated Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway on November 2, where the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series champion will be crowned.
New Broadcast partnerships
For 2025, NASCAR has expanded its media reach with new broadcasting partners. Amazon Prime Video and TNT will join Fox, FS1, NBC, and USA Network to broadcast races. A total of five races, including the iconic Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte on May 25, will be streamed exclusively on Prime Video. This expansion ensures that fans have more access to the action than ever before.
