Oscar Piastri has taken control of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship, moving to the top of the drivers’ standings following a commanding win at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
The champion driver from McLaren delivered yet again an electrifying performance on the streets of Jeddah, propelling him to his third victory of the season. This recent win raised Piastri to a 10-point lead over teammate Lando Norris, who had come fourth at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
Verstappen Trails in Third After Finishing Second
Reigning World Champion Max Verstappen crossed the finish line to draw second place, but with that, he drops to third in the overall standings. Despite the loss of victory, the Red Bull driver is still close in battle, being 12 points shy of the one ahead of him-Piastri.
McLaren Solidifies Grip on Constructors' Championship
Piastri's win and Norris' provision of fourth in Saudi Arabia have served to bolster McLaren's chances in this constructors' race as they now count on a 77-point advantage over the second-place team, Mercedes, continuing the early dominance for the 2025 season.
