Paris Olympics are scheduled to start from July 26.

117 athletes will represent India in Paris Olympics 2024.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah announced that the Cricket Board will give INR 8.5 Crores to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. There will be 117 athletes representing India in the multinational event scheduled to start from July 26 in Paris. Additionally, a support staff of 140 members will accompany the athletes, bringing the total contingent size to 257 members. Their will be a opening ceremony on July 26. 

 

Jay Shah who recently awarded 125 crore to T20 World Cup winning India cricket team took his ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) to announce the news.

“I am proud to announce that the @BCCI will be supporting our incredible athletes representing #India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are providing INR 8.5 Crores to the IOA for the campaign. To our entire contingent, we wish you the very best. Make India proud! Jai Hind!” posted Jay Shah. 

 

BCCI's contribution in Tokyo Olympics 2020

The cricket Board contributed INR 10 crore in the last edition of the Olympic Games which was hosted by Japan, Tokyo in 2021 the last edition of the multinational event due to the coronavirus pandemic. India won one gold medal in Tokyo which was clinched by Neeraj Chopra in javelin throw. 121 athletes represented India in the last edition of the games.
