In Paris Olympics 2024, along with Lakshya Sen of India, HS Prannoy's winning streak continued in the group stage. As soon as Prannoy defeated Vietnam's Le Duc Phat 16-21, 21-11 and 21-12 in the second match of his Group-K. With this, he made it to the pre-quarterfinals from his group. However, with this win India have faced a major setback as he will face another Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen in next outing and this will be a do-or-die clash for both badminton stars.
Prannoy lost in the first game
HS Prannoy opened his account by taking the first point of the first game, but after that, when the score was 8-6 at one time. Then the Vietnamese shuttler took five consecutive points to make the score 9-10 and gained the lead till the end and defeated Prannoy 21-16.
Prannoy retaliated in the second game
Prannoy made a comeback in the second game and scored four consecutive points to make the score 4-0. After this, when the score became 16-11, Prannoy scored five consecutive points again and won the second game 21-11. Now in the third and decisive game, Prannoy again showed his strength and in the middle of the third game when the score was tied at 8-8, Prannoy took the lead by scoring four consecutive points and finally won the game 21-12 and made it to the pre-quarterfinals.

Talking about HS Prannoy, he defeated Germany's Fabian 21-18 and 21-12 in his first match in Group K. Now Prannoy will face his compatriot Lakshya Sen on August 2.
Lakshya Sen reached the pre-quarterfinals
Lakshya Sen's winning campaign continued in badminton on 31 July. He defeated world number four ranked player Jonathan Christie in two straight games 21-18, 21-12. With this, Lakshya Sen has made it to to the pre-quarterfinals.
